Oops - Another Oldie But Goodie
As I was looking up and confirming the lyrics for that last song, I found another from the same era of my life. I continually admit that these songs from that time are the most affective in my life. They were seemingly etched deep back then, for they keep coming back, over and over again. This is yet another one of those lost to time though. I haven't thought of it in ages.
For those who have a bad "big church" experience growing up and are the movers and shakers of this whole new postmodern movement, with some seeds of animosity toward things past and traditional... I'm sorry. I feel as though you really missed out on something awesome. I wish I could share it. God has worked in the lives of the saints throughout all time. I have seen His hand move mightily throughout the span of my lifetime, and I respect my elders greatly. It was because of their faithfulness to God, commitments to righteous and devout living that I am able to freely declare that I too am alive in Christ. I hate to see how the world is losing its salt and light... yet the Lord still reigns, and it is our "turn" as the present generation of the Body of Christ to "do something about it". But let's not throw all away in haste. While God is doing some new things - to be sure, and far be it from me to deny these things that are good - yet He has always done so throughout what we refer to as "time"... and some things never change!
Therefore the Redeemed of the Lord Shall Return
Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return,
And come with singing unto Zion;
And everlasting joy shall be upon their head.
They shall obtain gladness and joy;
And sorrow and mourning shall flee away.
Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.
Isaiah 51:11 KJV
