The production design of the 1989 Batman movie by Tim Burton left a big impression on me. I was already a fan of Batman, and the movie greatly increased the craze. I liked the gothic architecture designed for Gotham City. This is a drawing of the Cathedral as featured in the final scenes. Back before I had access to any quality art supplies, I taped two pieces of regular sketch paper together so I could fit the tall, slender building on it. The few years following the Tim Burton films, I often drew characters and scenarios patterned after what I remembered from the movies.
