This is one of my favorite drawings from my high school sketch book. My mom will recognize this little decorative candle holder. I think it might be stored up in the attic with her Christmas decorations. I don't know the color of the box or plastic Rubbermaid bin it is in. I enjoyed drawing this candle and was especially challenged nu the flame. It's like, how do you draw light? Well that's just it: you don't. You have to draw the darkness... that is unless your surface is dark, and you are "adding light". "And God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light 'day', and the darkness he called 'night.'
