We finally got our first decent dump'o'snow this winter, the first of 2007. I enjoy snow for the most part, though decreased mobility and increased road danger can be bothersome. What I like most about snow is its photogenic nature. Good lighting makes for good pictures, and snow bounces light around better than just about anything. I suppose to a person who lives where snow is commonplace, these pictures look like royal junk. However, for us Pacific Northwesterners, snow is a beautiful rarity worth enjoying and certainly worth capturing on film (does anyone use that stuff anymore?).
