There is more truth to movies like "The Matrix" than many of us will ever know. What we see as "real" - flesh and blood - is passing, fading. I'm not talking about the extreme implications of this point of view - where nothing is real, and all an illusion. Yes, what we see, feel, hear, taste and touch is very real. However, what is "more real", if you want to qualify it that way, is a battle behind the scenes for our souls! This entire world (which is real for now) and the very heavens (in their vast array) will soon pass away. They will melt like wax before the Lord of Hosts. His judgment is coming soon!

When all fades and burns, does that mean what is "real" no longer exists? Will there then be silence and void once again? Let me tell you that God and the realm where He dwells are more real than the human mind can conceive. None of this can be seen with eyes of the flesh, for we are blinded to it now. God requires faith, which is the pathway to "seeing" those things that are invisible. Faith doesn't see with eyes and flesh, but with the spirit. Neither can faith be fabricated. Faith too comes from God, and we must ask for it. When we die - or the world fall - we will continue to exist as beings. We will then see the reality behind the scenes, for we will see it uninhibited by the bodies that now contain us. We will face in that moment either the greatest sense of joy and peace, or the deepest regret.

There is a hideous and deadly battle for our souls being waged today. Its manifestations are disguised, yet present all around us. Don't look for demons and angels hiding under every rock. That's not what it's all about. It's about the darkness versus the Light. Whose side are you on? You might think that it is unnecessary to choose sides, that peace with both sides will forfeit you from any penalties. Unfortunately for us there's no easy way out. Under the Way the King of heaven set up "the rules", indecision is a choice for the forces of darkness. In fact, the dark commanders are trying to bind or convince those who won't follow their own ranks to at least make no choice at all! There is a world full of endless religious and philosophical choices. In the end, it all boils down to this one thing. We must consciously respond to the matter of one historical person: Jesus Christ. Accept, reject, discredit or ignore Him. The choices have dire consequences or sweet, unimaginable rewards. The time is short. Jesus is alive and well, dwelling in Power and Light. He's coming back soon. What is now invisible, every eye will see on that day! Will He find us ready? Will He really find faith on the earth?

"The Battle Belongs to the Lord". I now see songs like this in a new light. I see the reality presented and am comforted in the truths we are given. In the world, we will have trouble. But take heart! Jesus Christ has overcome the world!
