Thanks, My Brother

Thank You, Father. Thank You, Jesus! As Your creations, we try to imitate You. Yet we cannot give gifts like You, we cannot love nearly as well! The blessing to see my brother, Micah, is beyond my ability to describe! Praise You. I love You, Lord! My eyes are flooded with tears as I think of how good You are to me! Inwardly, I groan. I groan for holiness. I groan to unzip this jacket of flesh around me. I groan to see Your face! I have seen a glimpse of Your face in that of my brother. Thank You for the faithfulness and the bright shining example of Micah and his family. Thank You for my special sister. She is one of a kind! I'd ask for no other in addition or in her place! Thank You for my beautiful nieces and nephews! They are all special in Your eyes, and each one is a unique treasure, made in Your likeness. Bless this family! Provide for Your faithful servants!

Micah, my brother-in-law has been in town for a week. For those that don't know, my sister and family are missionaries in Peru. The occasions I get to see them are few and far between. Each time I find that I love and cherish them more and more. I am so proud, I boast of their work in the Lord!

I wasn't sure if I was going to get to see Micah. I would have been very sad if I didn't get the opportunity. He made a special trip out to my side of town during lunch today just so I could see him. He brought his Bible, and we encouraged each other in the Lord. It's not possible my encouragement was nearly as timely or valuable as his. I so needed to hear from my brother. Knowing that they are praying for us and love us is such a gift, such a blessing! It's like being ministered to by Jesus Himself. Again I am brought to tears... if mere men can so demonstrate the love of Christ, how much more will we experience when we see Him face-to-face! I can't wait!
