One thing that is really annoying about my first or second generation digital camera is that it takes seemingly 20 seconds to turn on and extent the lens. I missed a perfect shot of this giraffe just a few yards away. This was the best I could do after loosing that moment. It would be nice to get a speedy SLR. By the time my camera focuses and is ready to snap the shot, I need to refocus, as the subject has changed depths.
